Welcome to Your Spiritual Self-Help Guide
Hello and welcome to my Spiritual Self-Help Guide. My name is Jenna Beneck and it is my privilege to share with you information that I hope will help you to lead a happy, peaceful and fulfilling life.
Most of us have some issues with life, that we need to work at resolving, even if we are not always aware of exactly what our problems are. Not everyone has the advantage of being brought up in a positive, loving, problem-free environment. We haven't all had good role models to teach us how to be happy and carefree. And, for most of us, we are our own worst critics and give ourselves a really hard time.
So, if you could use a little help to feel your inner joy and to silence the negative voice in your head, then I hope that you will find that you have come to the right place. I hope to be able to help you by sharing the information that has helped me. So, what do I have to offer?
I have been a meditator for over 10 years now and I am certain that this technique has helped to preserve my sanity during the more challenging times in my life (and there have been plenty). My training has mainly been from a Buddhist background, although I am Christian by upbringing and prefer to think of myself as spiritual rather than religious. I am happy to take the best bits that religion has to offer and to discard those parts that do not resonate. Buddhism offers so much wisdom and great advice for changing your life for the better by training your mind through meditation and other practices. And yes, I will be encouraging you to meditate, even if you've never tried it before.
Buddha taught that this life is in the nature of suffering and we should therefore not be surprised when things go wrong. But when we can face life with a happy and peaceful mind, we can live in joy and harmony. To do this, we must learn to stay positive and to take responsibility for our own thoughts and actions. This means that we stop blaming and feeling helpless and take control in order to create the life that we want. We need to create happy habits in order to be happy.
You see it is our thoughts that influence the way that we see everything that happens in our lives, even though much of it is buried deep in our subconscious minds. You can change anything in your life for the better merely by changing the way that you think about it.
Whilst it is not easy to change our thought patterns, which have become deeply ingrained habits over many years, this can be done with practice. We can use meditation and relaxation to familiarise our minds with peace and happiness and rid ourselves of the constant negative chatter that plagues so many of us. When we can relax and not take ourselves so seriously, we can finally enjoy life and the pleasures that it has to offer.
